Hi and welcome to the January 2010 issue of the 1st Alert.

First, I would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year and the best in 2010. I know it will be one of the best years ever in our industry.

In this month's issue I would like to introduce the official release of our MLCC vs. Film Cap Guide as we had mentioned in the previous issues at the end of last year. This guide provides comparison information on Film Caps vs. NP0/C0G MLCC capacitors with details of the pros and cons of each. This quick guide is a tool to help engineers determine which type of capacitor will be best suited for their specific application. We hope the guide will assist you in this endeavor.

Also, since most of us are now aware that Panasonic is getting out of the MLCC business, we have provided cross information regarding Panasonic's ECJ series part numbers in order to help engineers and buyers cross these to Venkel ceramic capacitors and provide an alternative source.
